ICDS is a unique programme meant for all round development of the children up to 6 years of age. We were allotted to run this project by the Department of Women and Child Development & Social Welfare, Govt. of W.B. It is a national programme of our country under the Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India. It serves a major role for upliftment and all round integrated development of mothers & children. The scheme launched in our country on the second day of October, 1975. We started the scheme for implementation throughout the entire jurisdiction of Contai II (Deshapran) Block in the district of Purba Medinipur in 1999 and have been continuing in 209 centers the Block area of 8 (eight) Gram Panchayats.
