Observation of Special Days
(A) Birthday celebration of Swami Vivekananda
Swami Vivekananda is our ideal and this organization has also been named after the said saint, the idol of youth & social service. We observe the holy birth day of the saint in each year on 12th day of January; on 12/01/10 we observed it with great awe and homage. Sri Nishikanta Jana presided over the programme where the writings, speeches of the saint read & discussed and some songs also were presented,
(B) International Women’s day on 8th March
We celebrated International Women’s day on (8th March) on 14/03/11 at VLN campus selected Women Volunteers, ICDS workers and some local social workers participated the programme. It was organized by our FCC unit. Sri Tanmoy Sasmal, FCC counsellor, Biplab Priya Giri, C.D.P.O., Sutapa Saha, ICDS Supervisor, and Lawer of Contai S.D. Court participated as lecturer on the topics of women Rights, Domestic Violence, Women’s empowerment, Nutrition & Health of women etc. Miss Moumita Bera, FCC Counsellor Coordinator the programme.
Annual Sports – we organized Sports on 12.01.2011 on the day of observation of birthday of Swami Vivekananda, the Idol of youth and ideal of our organization.
We organized the same at the campus of our central complex ground. 58 competitors participated and 18prizes had been given upon 6 events of 3 section to the successful 1st , 2nd , 3rd winner on the same day.
We obtained one sanction of constructing Multi Gym (indoor game with physical culture) building from the Hon’ able Ex MP Mr. Prasanta Pradhan, But due to non receipt of fund of 3, 00,000/- only from the DM’s Office. Construction has not yet been started.
Eye Testing Camp
Eye Testing Camp on 11.04.10. Team of 22 persons (Doctors + Nurse) – attended Tested 455 out of which172 detected for operation Dr. D. Bhusan, Dr. R Biswa etc. tested Eyes Operations dates – 20.04.10, 22.04.10, 04.06.01,07.06.10

We donate text books and such other necessary book to poor and meritorious students of secondary class level every year. During this year, on 05.05.10 we donated books to the students of class IX – 33, Class X-16, Total -49.
Tradition of chariot festivals is going on for last several years. It in needless to say that we have wined the hearts of younger section of the locality organizing chariot Festival of Lord Jagannath on the day of Rathajatra. On 13.07.2010 the said chariot festival was organized by us as Faridpur where 420 small size chariots were assembled creating a gala show. Thousand of people attended the Mela , wherein most of the participants & visitors were school children or the teen – aged children of rural area of the locality. There arranged lighting decorations by us to encourage exhibition of chariots. Consolation prizes were given to all the chariot holders from our organization on the Return chariot festival on 20.07.2010.
Blood Donation Camp
Blood Donation Camp on 28.11.2010 in collaboration with Contai SD Hospital inaugurated by Santu Biswas, SDI & C Contai, Venue – Conference Hall of VLN Blood donated by 90 donors out of which teachers of High Schools were maximum Doctor – Badal Nanda of Contai SD Hospital was the team leader, who collected blood on behalf of Blood Bank authority.
Home at Digha
During the year completed construction of 3 storied building at our own purchased land at New Digha near Amrabati Park at Mouza Champabani covering a plot of 32 decimals. It is the Home where the old-aged couple or persons may stay as paying guest. The Home is being built to honour the demands of middle class old persons, retired persons who can spend their last lives at ease for taking rest. To meet the demand of the locality we constructed conference Hall with short time lodging & fooding system there.
I am glad to inform that one Sri Tushar Kanti Das of Paschim Bamunia wished to donate something for the benefit of local people & Home inmates. As proposed by Nishikanta Jana, our respectable president, his mother Sailabala Das donated one vehicle “Maruti Omni” for use as Ambulance. The vehicle is easily accessible to all immigrant parties day night for quick transport to destinated hospitals, treatment point etc. with free services to poors but in exchange of nominal cost from financially able persons. We are highly obliged to respectable king hearted donor Shailabala Das and her noble-hearted son Sri Tusher Kanti Das . I wish their peaceful long life.
Staff Welfare Programme
We introduce the programme of staff welfare on micro basis. The fund in issued for the purpose out of instructions own resource. On emergency or necessity or on demand of the staff loans are issue to them against nominal services charges and become realize from the salaries on instalments. More over, we issued incentives to the deserving staff on account of studies of their children, acute illness and the marriage of daughters’ etc. like govt. run ICDS Project; we have no system of PF in the NGO run ICDS project. Major portion of ICDS employees, specially low paid Anganwadi Workers / Anganwadi Helpers take from Staff of other section also are tagged with his welfare programme.
The programme has become very helpful to the employees of this organization. We have closing fund of rupees three lakhs eighty five thousand apporox as capital fund at the close this financial year in this account.
To encourage the members & staff of this organization we arranged educational tour every year specially to gather experience on nature as well as historical places of interest.
During the year we arranged such a tour programme to visit Rajasthan and other rout-way visitable place of importance.
In the evening of Vijaya Dasami on 17.1.2010, Sunday when the route-marching in going on for immersion of goddess Durga, our luxury bus stand for tour with 54 travellers as its passengers under leadership of the General Secretary.
After almost 24hrs journey we reached on 18.10.10 at 7pm at a hotel at Buddha Gaya on that evening we witnessed the large temple & the image of lord Buddha and enjoyed the evening programme “Sandhyaarati” with hearts content. We awafully prayed to Lord Buddha for the peace of mankind.
On 19.10.10 at the morning we finished our early bath & breakfast to start for Gaya. All day long we visited many places & temples there.
On 20.10.10 we reached Agra and keeping our bus a parking place, we started for visiting Historical structure made of white rock, the glory of India & 7th wonderful of the glob, the Tajmahal. The charming scenery touched our mind and heart.
As we reached late, we failed to see the historical Agra Fort. We left no time unused and started on that night for Joypore where we reached in the early morning on 21.10.10. we retained ourselves at a luxury hotel. In that afternoon we travel locally. On 22.10.10 we went to see Jalmahal, Ambar Fort, Birla Temple, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar Place, Brindaban Temple. We became very charmed and amused to see those places.
On 23.10.10 we started for Azmir Sharif where reaches at about 3pm. We hired some hackney carriages to see the complex of Azmir Sharif . Then we started for “Puskar Lake”, the holy religions pilgrimage of the Hindus. Taking bath there, we went to see the holy temple of “Lord Brahma”
On 24.10.10 we went to “Chitorgarh” the glorious memorial spot of Rajput. We saw there Temple of Goddess Kali, Temple of Devi Durga, Temple of Mirabbai, the queen of Mebar, Monument of Victory (Vijaya Stambha) etc.
We reached Udaypur on that afternoon and kept shelter at a Dharam Shala. In the morning of 25.10.10 we saw the large image of Rana Pratap with great awe to him who struggled for a long period against the Mushlin invaders in his kingdom.
On 26.10.10 we went to ride the “Mount Abu” on 27.10.10 we travelled Jaysalmeer, and on 28.10.10 Bekaneer in the desert.
On return we visited so many remarkable & national places in New Delhi, the Capital of India. While we are coming back, we did not forget to touch the holy city of Benaras. It is situated on the bank of Holy River, the Ganges. At Kashi, we saw temple of Lord Visweswar and worshiped at Annapurna Mandir.
On 31.10.10 we returned back to Faridpur it was our first experience to travel such a long distance. Of course, as we have bus with us, we became able to reach the targeted places direct, without any frequent break journeys.
The tour, no doubt, became very pleasant to all of the travellers.
